Why I wrote Future Ready™.

Logan Nathan has spent more than four decades working through successive waves of technology — from early computer systems to the internet, digital transformation and now Artificial Intelligence.

Born in Sri Lanka, educated in the United Kingdom and now based in Melbourne, Australia, his career has taken him through multinational organisations, entrepreneurship, technology businesses, writing and education.

But the idea for Future Ready™ came from somewhere much simpler. It came from conversations with young people.

During presentations to students in Sri Lanka, particularly through the Young Leaders Programme in Jaffna, Logan was struck by their curiosity. They were not simply asking what Artificial Intelligence could do. They were asking:

How do we prepare for this future? What should we learn? Can someone from where we come from make a difference in the world?

Those questions stayed with him. Future Ready™ was written as his response — not a manual for becoming an AI expert, but a practical guide to becoming a curious learner, thoughtful human being and confident future builder.

His underlying belief remains simple:

Technology creates its greatest value when people use it to solve real problems and improve lives.
